Hamish Walker is National’s Spokesperson for Forestry and Land Information and National's Associate Spokesperson for Tourism, with a strong family history to the Southland area. He currently lives in Queenstown with his family.
Prior to becoming the Member of Parliament for Clutha-Southland, Hamish was a successful business advisor, specialising in strategy and governance.
A graduate of Unitec Institute of Technology with a degree in Business, Hamish subsequently worked as a senior consultant at an accountancy firm and in banking.
Hamish has also previously held roles as a commercial fisherman, police jailor, gold miner, mentor for youth living with diabetes, successful business owner and former First Class Rugby Referee.
Hamish is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, and has served on the Otago Rugby Board. He was previously a member of the Otago/Southland Lotteries Committee.
